We've been doing some interesting work with the team behind the future marketing awards - the same guys who launched the very successful viral awards last year. So we were very surprised to hear that, of all the categories they're covering, viral is proving the slowest this year.
All the other areas are receiving lots of entries (so many that they've had to extend the deadline to the end of the month) but viral is proving - relatively - slow - and none of us can work out why. We're still seeing lots of viral, there is a still a lot of buzz around viral, and the awards people are emphasising that viral is still really important even though the awards have extended their coverage into lots of other hot areas.
Any ideas? And if you have a good viral you've still got a couple of weeks to get the entry in. Good luck.
