One of the first projects we can talk about publicly launches today - Halifax Share Price Alert - a new branded content application for Halifax ShareDealing.
This application allows users to automatically receive regular updates on share price movements of up to 5 FTSE 100 stocks on their PC desktop. This is thought to be the first free ‘push’ stockprice service available and is made possible through an innovative use of Skinkers desktop alerts technology.
Users sign up for the free application at www.halifaxsharepricealert.com and select up to 5 stocks they’re interested in watching and the times they would like to receive the alert. Up to 4 times a day the alert is received on the users desktop, showing the price and volume on those stocks (15 minutes delayed) together with a comparison to any base price they may have set.
Our research showed trading would be increased if people had easy access to up to date stock prices. We then worked very closely with Skinkers to develop a secure, easy to use service that users would find invaluable. This application will drive more trading amongst Halifax customers and will drive customer acquisition as word of mouth encourages non customers to use the tool and become familiar with the numerous advantages of using Halifax ShareDealing.
Our client, Paula Rowntree, Marketing Manager, Halifax Share Dealing says “The Share Price Alert continues our investment in innovative services for our customers and we’re confident that this will drive significant ROI through increased activity and increased customer acquisition”
And Matteo Berlucchi, CEO of Skinkers, said “Share Price Alert is an excellent example of how desktop notification solutions can significantly improve the user experience compared to what is currently available on other communication channels such as email.
The Share Price Alert will be supported by a word of mouth campaign through Big Picture and further improvements will be rolled out in the coming months, including wider coverage of stocks and a complementary mobile service.
